YOUTH (1917 - 1941). MEETING WITH HIS FUTURE WIFE

Sharaf Rashidov graduated from the Jizzakh Pedagogical College in 1936 and became a teacher at his mother school in Jizzakh. One of his students was Khursand Boymatova, who later became his wife.

"After graduating from the Jizzakh Pedagogical College, Sharaf-aka taught us literature lessons. I was the seventh grade at the time. He enchanted the entire class. There were 36 students in the class, including 10 girls. Sharaf-aka knew dozens of Pushkin's poems by heart and read them to us with great enthusiasm. Thanks to him, we fell in love with literature lessons. One day I asked him a question: "Teacher, why does everyone call you Sharaf-jon? Why does everyone love you so much?" "It's because I love everyone, Khursanoy. As you treat people, so they will treat you," Khursand Boymatova recalled.

Sharaf Rashidov worked at the Jizzakh school for one year. In 1937, he entered the Uzbek State University (present-day Samarkand State University), the Faculty of History and Philology, in Samarkand.
